Explore the James River While Rafting in Virginia
Raft the entire Falls of the James River from Pony Pasture to 14th St, enjoying the beautiful scenery, the city skyline, and thrilling rapids!
We will spend about 4 hours on the water and have plenty of time for relaxing and soaking in the scenery.
We will meet you at the RVA Paddlesports at 1511 Brook rd before shuttling up to our put-in point about eight miles upriver. You will get outfitted with helmets, PFDs, and paddles before receiving a safety briefing from the trip leader.
Starting at Pony Pasture, we will paddle the Class I-II Upper James rapids, including Pony Pasture, Choo Choo, and Mitchell’s Gut. We will then stop to relax and eat lunch on one of the river’s many islands. After lunch, we will tackle the Class III-IV Lower James rapids of Hollywood, Fish Ladders, and Pipeline.
Once we get off the water, we’ll shuttle you back to our shop. Make sure to ask our guides for recommendations if you are hungry after a day on the river!
