Enjoy the thrill of the rapids, breathtaking scenery, and the famous Richmond skyline all in one trip!  The Lower James River has something for everyone and is home to America’s only urban Class IV rapids.  There’s no better way to experience the River City!

We will meet you at our rafting shop at 1511 Brook Rd.  Before embarking on your adventure you will get outfitted with helmets, PFDs, and paddles before receiving a safety briefing from the trip leader. After a short bus .ride to the James River Park System we will arrive at our launch location for the day. Guides will train each team fo 4-6 rafters with strokes and procedures for navigating the Class III & IV rapids of the Lower James River. Rapids can include Hollywood, Pipeline, & Fish Ladders as well as alternate lines if river conditions dictate. During the trip we will stop for a short snack and water break on an island to regroup and make sure the teams are hydrated and comfortable. We try to allow multiple times during the trip for clients to get in the water and float through the calm sections.

Once we get off the water, we’ll shuttle you back to our base at RVA Paddlesports where you can share stories of you adventure and check out the pictures our photographers took of your group on the water.
