Quick Details
RVA Paddlesports aims to engage Richmond’s community with the biggest asset of our backyard: the James River! We offer whitewater rafting, flatwater canoeing and kayaking, raft guide training, and other programs geared to get our community outside. This summer RVAPS is excited to take all of our existing programs and cater them to the next generation of paddlers.
Participants will join Wilderness First Responder and Sierra Rescue certified staff on an adventure on the James. Over the course of the week, participants will experience nature and the ecology of the park while having fun exploring the rapids of the Falls of the James. Participants will begin to develop their paddling skills with the assistance of expert instruction in a safe and fun environment.
Here are a few activities to expect:
- Hiking
- Swimming
- Canoeing
- Flatwater Kayaking
- Inflatable Kayaking
