Progress your Paddling
Our courses offer paddlers the opportunity to progress through skills and reinforce fundamentals in kayak instruction that should help them to have a safe and enjoyable time on the river. Below you will find courses and clinics available to paddlers no matter their skill.
Half Day Intro to Kayaking – Learn the basics of paddling a whitewater kayak and enjoy the scenic Upper James River
Two Day Intro to Kayaking – Great for those that want to pursue whitewater kayaking as a sport. The second day offers a great reinforcement of fundamentals and new challenges.
Flatwater Sessions & Roll Clinics – Weekly river clinics in the summer and monthly pools sessions are a great way to work on skills or recommend a roll clinic after you have spent some time in a boat. This can be a tough skill to learn, but very rewarding and opens the doors to paddling harder whitewater.
Surfing, Ferries, & Attainments – This course is for paddlers wanting drill skills in the low consequence environment of Class I/II that will prepare them for the Class III+ Lower James.
Lower James Session – Learn the lines and safe navigation of the Lower James. The river level is always changing and new challenges await.
ACA Swiftwater Rescue – Learn skills to keep yourself and your group safe on the water.
Private Instruction – Get the most out of your time on the water and learn/improve the skills you need to progress to the next level. We’ll also accompany you or your group down a new river outside of RVA. Ask us about skills workshops in other disciplines such as canoeing, sea kayaking, & SUP.
As always you can call us at +1 804 898 0697 or e-mail us at email@example.com if you have any questions or would like to book a clinic.
