Enjoy scenic stretches of the James River while learning solid stroke fundamentals and exploring Richmond’s history. Flatwater kayaking can be a great way for a group of friends or family to enjoy the James River and its refreshing views.
Who: Anybody new to paddling or those wanting a relaxing calm day on the water.
What: Enjoy a two hour guided flat water paddle on the James River. See waterfowl, songbirds, & other wildlife far from the bustle of the city
Where: We typically meet at Deep Bottom Park and paddle the Four Mile Creek section at that launch site. If you would like to schedule a different location we have other options also within 20 minutes of downtown.
When: Course duration is 2 hours. Early mornings, evening and weekend options are available. Call or email to schedule your group outside the 3:00 PM or 5:30 PM Book Now options.
What to Bring: We provide boats, paddles, pfds, water , & guides. Participants should bring swimwear, sunscreen, & water bottle.
Cost: $60 a person.
Cancellation Policy and Weather Contingency Plan
Customers are responsible for the full cost of their booking within 5 days of a scheduled trip.
We will go on the river rain or shine. In the event of sever weather we will wait out the storms or plan the trip accordingly to keep the clients safe. No refunds will be issued for clients canceling due to weather. If RVA Paddlesports cancels a trip for any reason a full refund will be issued at no penalty
